Building wealth is pretty straightforward.
You save money, invest consistently, and start watching the numbers go up.
But once you’ve built some wealth, you start to see your ‘life options’ open up. Then the question becomes: “How much freedom do I really want?”
The truth is, there are a surprising number of options between 100% work and 100% freedom.
My new article looks at all the ways you can crank up the freedom dial and move towards the life you want – even if you’re nowhere near your FI number yet.
These options give you more time and space to enjoy life, without necessarily cutting ties with the workforce. See which one resonates with you the most.

AUSSIE FIRE PODCAST
The federal budget is coming out, and there’s a lot of noise around two policies that could shake up the investment landscape: capital gains tax and negative gearing.
In the latest Aussie FIRE pod, we break down what ideas are being floated, and our thoughts on what it could mean for your portfolio, and how it could change investing going forward.
If you like these more ‘topical’ style episodes, let me know and we’ll weave these into the mix going forward.

THOUGHTS OF THE WEEK
Your financial results are not the product of a single decision. They’re the accumulation of small repeated habits and default behaviours – driven by a mindset you don’t even notice. Change a few of them, and let them compound. The outcome in 10 years will be dramatically different.
Investing is like building a robot version of yourself. It works while you sleep. It never quits or needs a break. It gets payrises automatically. Even a modest $10k spits out $40 a month – say an hour of your time, returned to you, forever. The more you invest, the freer you become.
Our wealth has doubled in the last 4 years. I’d love to take credit and say it was skill. But it was almost entirely Perth property and leverage. Interestingly enough, the same combo dragged our wealth down for the previous 5 years. Meanwhile, shares and super chugged along growing steadily in both periods via dollar cost averaging.
SPECIAL REQUEST
Lately I’ve been getting quite a few lovely messages from many of you who’ve just finished my new book.
I’m thrilled to hear you’re finding it valuable and it’s helping you unlock those golden handcuffs 😉
One way you can help is by leaving a review where you got the book – even just a sentence or two. It makes a huge difference and lets others know it’s a book worth reading (or listening to). Thanks in advance!
If you don’t know what book I’m talking about, it’s featured below in this newsletter, or this page of my website.
