2026 is shaping up to be an interesting year so far.
But regardless of where markets go this year, we’ve got some pretty big things happening with our portfolio.
In fact, 12 months from now, I expect our investment allocation to look quite a bit different than it does today.
In my new article, I discuss the following:
— Current wealth allocation
— How much dividends we earned in 2025
— Share portfolio breakdown (and changes)
— Property + share market update
— Our investing plans for 2026

STRONG MONEY PODCAST
If there’s one idea that’s underappreciated, it’s semi-retirement. I don’t mean that in terms of popularity, but in terms of how incredibly feasible it is to pull off.
While FI itself is a bigger mountain to climb, semi-FI is far more achievable than most people realise – and that’s the topic of my latest podcast.
I explore a concept called the 50% rule, a framework for thinking about luxuries, and how to make sure you still reach full FI even if you semi-retire.

AUSSIE FIRE PODCAST
As you know, debt recycling is one of the most discussed topics in the FI community.
It’s also a bit tricky to understand, with the ins and outs confusing a lot of people.
So we piled up a bunch of debt recycling questions and decided to tackle them all in the latest Aussie FIRE pod. Enjoy!

THOUGHTS OF THE WEEK
A truly rich existence has nothing to do with a fancy lifestyle. It has everything to do with having peace, options, and time to enjoy your days. Freedom is the ultimate luxury.
Most people aren’t in great financial shape, not because they earn too little but because they spend too much. Most people aren’t in great physical shape, not because they burn too little but because they consume too much. Yes, you can earn more and burn more, but until you get your consumption under control, nothing will change.
Everyone warns you about the risk of leaving work too early. Nobody talks about the risk of working longer than you need to.
STRONG MONEY IN THE MEDIA
Two things to share with you.
Firstly, I was interviewed on the Australian Finance Podcast. We discuss whether FIRE is still possible in 2026 – including what’s changed in the last few years.
We also talk about what life looks like ‘on the other side’ of financial independence, how to beat One More Year Syndrome, and learning to let yourself enjoy your wealth, rather than just accumulating forever.
Listen on Spotify, Apple, or watch the YouTube version here.
Following on from that, I was also featured in the West Australian newspaper recently (see below).
As the media usually does, they made the story spicier than reality, and ‘filled in the gaps’ so to speak, haha. What do they say – any publicity is good publicity?
I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be a full-page spread, but hey, I’ll take it. You can read the online version here.
